a plate, a place, every night
Feed Hope. Fight Hunger.
On a mission to end hunger, one meal at a time. UnStarve is a community-powered food donation platform dedicated to serving the homeless and those who cannot afford their next meal. Whether it's a home-cooked dish, restaurant surplus, or a small monetary donation, every contribution helps put food on someone's plate tonight.
Why we exist
Hunger doesn't wait for policy to catch up.
Unstarve — "a bridge of food" is taking its first step toward creating a community-driven movement against hunger. We are bringing together compassionate people who wish to contribute—whether by donating food, volunteering, or supporting our mission—to help provide meals to those in need. This website marks the beginning of our journey to make food support more organized, accessible, and impactful.

From kitchen to kerbside
What your donation actually moves
Four community kitchens cook fresh — rice, sambar, and a vegetable, packed hot and served to those in need.
Volunteers ride fixed routes every night, so the same faces know exactly when and where a plate is coming.
Meals are served with dignity — no queues, no photos taken, no conditions attached.
Every kitchen logs plates cooked and delivered daily. Numbers here are pulled straight from that log.

Where the money goes
Unstarve is unregistered, We are currently volunteers in the process of registering as a formal charitable trust. Until registration is complete, donations are used directly for food purchases and distribution, and receipts are provided on request.
Who's behind the routes Unstarve is run by a small team of volunteers and two full-time coordinators.
Rajsridhar Jayaseelan began his career as a software engineer, but even while building a successful profession in
technology, he always felt drawn toward a larger purpose—serving people directly. That calling can be traced back to a
defining moment in his childhood. After dinner with his family at a restaurant, while holding an ice cream, he was
approached by a boy of about the same age who, dressed in worn clothes and clearly struggling, asked if he could have
it. Raj handed it over without hesitation, but what stayed with him was not the act itself. That night, he broke down in
tears, unable to understand why two children born into the same world could experience such different realities. From
that moment, a single question shaped his life: why should anyone have to go hungry? The values instilled by his family
strengthened that conviction. For nearly three decades, his parents, Jayaseelan and Sudha, have sponsored meals for at
least 100 people every year on the birthdays of Raj and his brother, demonstrating that compassion is best expressed
through consistent action.
His grandmother, Sugirthambal, was equally remembered for her generosity and kindness toward
both people and animals, leaving behind a legacy of selfless service. Inspired by these influences, Raj eventually
stepped away from his career in information technology to dedicate himself to public service and social impact. Today,
he is the founder of Unstrave, a philanthropic community that enables people to contribute towards providing
nutritious meals to the homeless and underprivileged.
Built on the belief that access to food is a fundamental human right rather than a privilege, Unstrave reflects a dream that has remained unchanged since childhood—to help create a
world where no one is deprived of dignity because of hunger or poverty, and where compassion is transformed into
meaningful, lasting action.
